X-Men ApocalypseFox are bringing out the big guns for their new entry into the X-Men universe, with the news that X-Men feature director Bryan Singer will be helming the pilot for the new series.

The untitled project written by Burn Notice’s Matt Nix focuses on two ordinary parents who discover that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. Singer has been one of the guiding forces behind the X-Men on the big screen, helming four of the movies, and he is also executive producing both Nix’s series and Legion, which starts next month.
