“No one’s best friends in all of the Defenders. This is a reluctant team-up,” Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter has said of the upcoming Netflix series that unites her with Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist battling Sigourney Weaver.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Ritter also revealed that many of her scenes are with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, with whom she shares a “cat-and-mouse” dynamic, that switches regularly. She also pointed out that Jessica is still dealing with the aftereffects of her own series, in particular the death of Kilgrave. “She hasn’t changed, but her environment has, and there’s no handbook for how to exist in a world where you are now popular.”

The eight episode first season of The Defenders will air on Netflix this summer. Iron Fist’s own series is due in March, with a third series of Daredevil and second seasons of both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage already ordered.
