The CW is planning on rebooting their sisterly witch drama, Charmed.
The team behind Jane the Virgin will be in charge of the new version – the script will be by Jessica O’Toole and Amy Rardin from a story by them and Jennie Snyder Urman with Brad Silbeling expected to direct. Their reboot will be set in 1976 and will have links to the original 1990s series.
CBS tried to reboot the show in 2013 without success. It’s unknown if any of the original stars will be involved although both Rose McGowan and Alyssa Milano were scathing about CBS’ plans at the time.
