Although CBS has yet to officially confirm it, multiple outlets are reporting that The Walking Dead’s Sonequa Martin-Green has been cast as the lead in Star Trek Discovery.
Martin-Green currently plays Sasha Williams on the AMC drama, which is returning with the second half of its seventh season in February. She will play the lieutenant commander at the heart of Discovery’s first season, which will air on CBS All Access in the US and Netflix elsewhere. The series is being filmed in Toronto and will premiere in May 2017.
