fanged-upFilming wraps this week on the British comedy prison horror movie Fanged Up, filmed in and around former prison HMP Kingston in the South coast naval town of Portsmouth.

The prison closed its doors to inmates only three years ago and provides an authentic, complete environment for this genre-crossing film which stars Daniel O’Reilly (aka controversial comedy sensation Dapper Laughs) and Danielle Harold (formerly Lola Pearce from EastEnders).

It follows the story of a lovable rogue who is thrown into Stokesville Prison for the weekend where he discovers that the inmates have been hand-picked for consumption by the Governor (Octopussy and A Clockwork Orange’s Steven Berkoff) and his nest of vampire guards.

Behind the camera is Christian James, whose Stalled proved to be a popular choice at the 2013 Fright Fest. Further support comes from Misfits’ Lauren Socha as Miss Renfield (see what they did there?), WWE Wrestler Stu Bennett (famously known as Wade Barrett) and boxing legend Joe Egan. The feature is co-written by star O’ Reilly, Nick Nevern (Terry, The Hooligan Factory) and Dan Palmer (Stalled, Freak Out).

Sci-Fi Bulletin have been on set amongst the severed limbs and guts and will provide a full-blooded report, including interviews with the cast, nearer the time of release in 2017. In the meantime, most of the cast are social media mavens and have been sharing behind-the-scenes shots and updates with the substantial number of followers across their channels.
