weaverVeteran stage and screen actor Fritz Weaver has died, aged 90.

The highly acclaimed actor is perhaps best remembered for his role in the 1978 drama Holocaust, for which he received an Emmy nomination, and for his appearances on Broadway in many productions including King Lear and Hamlet.

He regularly appeared in genre roles, starring as The Man From UNCLE’s opponent in the pilot episode of the series (later released theatrically as To Trap A Spy), and the TV version of The Martian Chronicles. He also guest starred in episodes of The Invaders, Night Gallery, Mission: Impossible, Wonder Woman, Tales of the Unexpected, The Twilight Zone, Tales from the Darkside, Friday’s Curse, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and The X-Files. On the big screen, he appeared in movies including Demon Seed and Creepshow.
