There’s a very large genre presence in some of the categories for the 2017 Audio Awards for which the shortlist was released today.
The Best Online/Non Broadcast is being contested between Dirk Maggs’ adaptation of Tim Lebbon’s Alien: Out of the Shadows; Bafflegab’s Baker’s End: The King of Cats, Audible UK’s version of Carmilla; and three Big Finish productions: John Dorney’s Doom Coalition 8th Doctor story Absent Friends; James Goss’ 10th Doctor tale Death and the Queen; and Guy Adams’ Torchwood story More than This.
Sebastian Baczkiewicz’s Pilgrim is one of those up for Best Audio Drama (Series), and its star, Paul Hilton, is one of those nominated for Best Actor (alongside former Doctor David Tennant for his role in Look Back in Anger).
Joseph Kloska has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor/Actress for his performance as Jonathan Harker in Big Finish’s Dracula.

Winners will be announced in a ceremony at the BBC Radio Theatre on 29 January 2017, hosted by Sir Lenny Henry.
