Rona Munro, who penned the final broadcast serial of the classic series of Doctor Who, has written a script for the upcoming Series 10, DWM has confirmed.
The ninth episode of the new season will see Munro return to the show after nearly thirty years: Survival, which guest starred Anthony Ainley and Lisa Bowerman alongside Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred, was broadcast in December 1989 and marked the start of a sixteen year hiatus, only broken by the Paul McGann TV Movie in 1996.
Munro is the first writer from the classic serial to write for the 21st century incarnation, although former script editor Terrance Dicks has written tie-in fiction featuring the characters from the show. Munro also novelised her own script for the Target range.
