Don Marshall, who co-starred in Irwin Allen’s Land of the Giants and had a key guest role in the original Star Trek, has died aged 80.
Marshall was seen as Lieutenant Boma in the Star Trek episode The Galileo Seven, in which his character was seriously at odds with Leonard Nimoy’s Mr Spock over his handling of a critical situation. He was cast as Dan Erickson for Allen’s two-season SF series that ran from 1968-1970, one of the few African-Americans in a lead role at the time. Subsequently, he appeared in a number of SF movies and TV series including the film The Thing with Two Heads with Ray Milland, as well as The Bionic Woman, The Incredible Hulk and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.
During the last few years, he was working on a revival of Land of the Giants from a script that he had written.
