BAFTA Award winning actress Georgina Campbell will play Lyta Zod, the female lead in Krypton, Syfy’s reimagining of life on Superman’s home world.

According to the report at Deadline, the series is set two generations before the destruction of the planet and follows Superman’s grandfather Seg-El — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honour and save his beloved world from chaos. Lyta Zod is a member of Krypton’s military caste and the daughter of General Alura Zod. She is currently a cadet — and is in a “clandestine, forbidden romance” with Seg-El.

Campbell has appeared in Murdered by my Boyfriend, as well as the series After Hours, Tripped, Flowers, and One of Us, and will next be seen in the third season of Broadchurch.
