Among her many new adversaries in her first season on the CW, Supergirl will be encountering Metallo.
According to EW, “When international assassin John Corben is badly injured after taking on both Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), he is reborn by a shadow organization into the Kryptonite-powered supervillain Metallo.” The new incarnation of the villain – who first turned up in Action Comics in 1959 – will be played by Frederick Schmidt.
The character last appeared on screen in the ninth season of Smallville, where he was played by Brian Austin Green. Supergirl returns to screens on October 10th.
