Fresh from his success in the adaptation of Stephen King’s 11.22.63, James Franco is staying in the master of horror’s world for his new project, based on King’s recent short story Drunken Fireworks.
According to the report at Deadline, Matt Rager is scripting the movie, based on the 2015 short story about escalating tensions in a small community over a 4th July fireworks display. Franco is expected to play Alden McCausland, the narrator of the tale, who gets in an “arms race” with a local mob boss. The story was released as an audio original last year ahead of its publication in King’s The Bazaar of Bad Dreams.
