According to reports at the British Comedy Guide, the BBC has commissioned a sixth chapter of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

The new series is expected to air in 2017, and is being organised and overseen by Dirk Maggs, who oversaw the later radio series, alongside David Morley from Perfectly Normal Productions. Maggs confirmed to the BCG that the series has been commissioned but that the precise form and the actors involved have yet to be agreed.

It’s anticipated that the book will draw from Eoin Colfer’s And Another Thing…, his 2009 novel which continued the Trilogy in 5 Parts written by Douglas Adams.
