Space PatrolArthur Provis, the last surviving director of AP Films, has died.

Born in 1925, Provis teamed up with Gerry Anderson to create AP (Anderson/Provis) Films, and together they worked on the Roberta Leigh series The Adventures of Twizzle, as well as Torchy the Battery Boy and Four Feather Falls. Provis and Anderson split in 1959 with Provis continuing to work with Leigh on Adventures of Sara and Hoppity and Space Patrol (known as Planet Patrol in the US) as well as a couple of abortive pilots including the highly unusual Paul Starr! His later career was spent producing commercials.

Provis was a contributor to Filmed in Supermarionation, the documentary on Gerry Anderson’s puppet work.
