Supergirl will be back for a second season of adventures – but on a different channel.

The DC Comics show will now appear as part of the CW’s line-up, and will be shot in Vancouver (as predicted here.) Executive producer Ali Adler confirmed the news in a tweet on May 12:

“#Supergirl thrilled & grateful to be @theCW home for superheroes & strong women @GBerlanti @SarahSoWitty @AJKreisberg @MelissaBenoist“

Contrary to some speculation online, this does not mean that the show is becoming part of the so-called “Berlanti universe” – it was clearly established in the Flash crossover episode that the show is set in a parallel world.
