Last year’s bumper crop of SF, fantasy and superhero films were rewarded at the MTV Movie Awards, held on April 9th.

Hosted by Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, the ceremony included a clip from the forthcoming Suicide Squad.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens won Best Movie, with star Daisy Ridley acknowledged for Breakthrough Performance, and Adam Driver for Best Villain as Kylo Ren.

Charlize Theron’s Imperator Furiosa was hailed as Best Female Performance, while Ryan Reynolds’ turn as Deadpool was Best Comedic Performance, and his battle with Ed Skrein’s Ajax was judged Best Fight. Chris Pratt’s battle at Jurassic World won him Best Action Performance, while Jennifer Lawrence’s final performance in the Hunger Games trilogy gained her Best Hero.
