Jim Gordon’s battle against the rise of the villains in Gotham will continue for another year, Fox has confirmed.

“It takes a very special team to tell the tales of Gotham. For the past two seasons, Bruno [Heller], Danny [Cannon] and John [Stephens] have masterfully honored the mythology of Gotham and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama,” Fox President David Madden explained. “This incredibly talented cast has redefined these iconic characters for a new generation, and we couldn’t be more proud of this show.”

The second season will see Paul Reubens (aka Pee Wee Herman) guest star as Elijah van Dahl – who has a family relationship with one of the lead characters – as well as the return of Jada Pinkett Smith’s Fish Mooney.
