As is often the case during a movie’s production, reshoots have been deemed necessary on the 13th Star Trek film, Star Trek Beyond, although less usually, they feature a new character.
According to Deadline, The Expanse star Shohreh Aghdashloo has joined the cast as “the High Command of the Federation” – a rank that doesn’t exactly tally with anything previously established, although we have encountered various Presidents of the United Federation of Planets over the years, as well as those in charge of Starfleet (a distinction that may be lost on non-Trek fans!).
The movie is just over four months away from release in July this year.
