There will be plenty of excitement about the new names joining the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 2, which began shooting on February 17th – but most eyes will be drawn to a small figure in the picture James Gunn released to mark filming starting.
As expected, a tiny Groot can be seen in the silhouetted image, confirming that the full team will be back.
Gunn posted: “Kurt Russell has joined our cast and, yes, he is more awesome a dude than I ever could have imagined.
“The last few days around here with him and our other new cast members, Pom Klementieff, Eli…zabeth Debicki, and Chris Sullivan, have been some of the best of my life. I never thought anyone was missing from our island of misfit toys, but now that these folks are here there feels like there was.
“Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, and Glenn Close are all returning.”

I sure enjoyed the camaraderie (?) and magic created in Film 1. Even if Groot made no return I could enjoy another adventure with this crew, now add a seedling and spaztastic like a 1980’s jerk out except I’m fracken old and I’d blow a ventricle so I wait, the ticket and disc’s will fly again.
