Emma Reeves’ Control Alter Delete – the final episode of Eve’s first series – won the prestigious Writers Guild of Great Britain Best Children’s TV Episode at the ceremony held on January 18th in London.
Eve follows the development and growth of an artificial intelligence in the form of a teenage girl, and was co-created by Reeves and David Chikwe. The series is currently at the start of its second run on CBBC.
It wasn’t the only genre winner at the ceremony. Russell T Davies, who spearheaded the return of Doctor Who among many other highly successful projects, was given the Outstanding Contribution to Writing Award. “For me, this is the greatest of honours, coming from fellow writers, and I’m enormously grateful to the Writers’ Guild – for this, and for the work it does for writers everywhere,” Davies said.
