A&E confirmed at the TCAs this week that their horror series Damien, a sequel to the original Omen movie, will debut on Monday March 7th at 10 pm.

They also released a new trailer, which features Barbara Hershey as Ann Rutledge, the woman who warns Damien of his role in the apocalypse, and links the series firmly to the first film (although the new scenes weren’t filmed at Pyrford Court in Surrey where the original was shot). The series ignores the various sequels both on film and in print.

“I really wanted to look at something where someone is supposedly tasked with this horrifying future crime that he’s going to bring about the apocalypse,” showrunner and developer Glen Mazzara explained.

Merlin star Bradley James plays Damien in the new series.
