Christopher Wood, who co-wrote the screenplay for two Roger Moore Bond movies, has died aged 79.

Wood’s screenplay for The Spy Who Loved Me may have reworked many elements of Roald Dahl’s You Only Live Twice, but it gave the movie series a shot in the arm and provided Roger Moore with one of his best outings as the secret agent. Wood also novelised the screenplay, which was published as James Bond, The Spy Who Loved Me, in which he made many alterations to the plotline and dialogue to make it more like Ian Fleming. Wood then wrote the screenplay for the adaptation of Moonraker, also novelising that (removing all of Jaws’ dialogue, since he had established in the first book that the character was mute).

Prior to Bond, Wood created and penned the Confessions of a … series of soft porn novels and movies, and his post-Bond career included the screenplay for Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins.
