Mark Ruffalo will be reprising his role as Bruce Banner / The Hulk alongside Chris Hemsworth in the third Thor “solo” movie, Ragnarok, out in 2017.
As is becoming increasingly common in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, other superheroes are “guest starring” in the solo films with Captain America: Civil War’s roster of heroes looking more like an instalment of The Avengers.
Thor: Ragnarok is expected to be directed by Taika Waititi, whose vampire movie What We Do in the Shadows garnered considerable acclaim at Sundance.
It’s not the first time the two superheroes have joined forces on screen: the 1988 TV Movie The Incredible Hulk Returns saw Eric Kramer play Thor alongside Bill Bixby’s David Banner and Lou Ferrigno’s Hulk.
