There will be a second chance to watch the opening two episodes of Series 9 of Doctor Who on BBC One this Sunday, 27th September, at 3.15 p.m.

The showing of The Magician’s Apprentice and The Witch’s Familiar is being promoted as a feature-length repeat of the story starring Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, Michelle Gomez and Julian Bleach. The Radio Times currently indicates repeats of Eat Well for Less and The Great British Bake-Off in the slot. An episode of Escape to the Country will follow the Doctor.

The repeat is likely to have been generated by concerns over the potential split in the audience caused by the Rugby World Cup match between England and Wales which begins at 8pm on Saturday, directly opposite the first showing of The Witch’s Familiar.
