An update of H.G. Wells’ The Island of Doctor Moreau is on the way from the co-creator of Sleepy Hollow.
Moreau will be written by Philip Iscove, and follow the “fiercely intelligent and fearless” Dr Katherine Moreau as she “expands the boundaries of medicine through bold and revolutionary scientific experimentation and treatments in her privately funded island hospital”. The script is being written for CBS Television and Kennedy/Marshall.
Wells’ “exercise in youthful blasphemy” was written in 1896 and has been adapted numerous times including the 1996 version illustrated. Warner Bros. were considering a new screen version a couple of years ago.

I can only hope this fantastical story makes it to the silver pixel., since there is little if any new material written for the page ,screen the betterment of man place in history I can scarcely reread the classics or binge watch for a little distraction.
