A short prologue to The Magician’s Apprentice, the first episode of Doctor Who series 9, has been released by the BBC.

Set on one of the many planets that feature in the story, it sees Peter Capaldi’s Doctor making a decision that will have ramifications throughout the episode – and also features the repeat of one of the classic lines from Steven Moffat’s first broadcast Doctor Who story, Curse of Fatal Death.
