Galaxy Quest lives – in the form of a new TV series on Amazon Prime, according to a report at Entertainment Weekly.

The script will be written by the original 1999 film’s co-writer Robert Gordon who will also executive produce the pilot. Dean Parisot will return to direct and executive produce, with Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein also set to return.

It’s unclear yet whether this will be a reboot, or a continuation of the movie, which starred Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman as actors on a cheesy sci-fi show who find themselves in space for real when aliens believe their show was a documentary. The late Robin Sachs played their alien foe.
