Saw’s Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan have a put pilot commitment from ABC for their new project Monstropolis.

Based around the idea that monsters are real and living among people in New Manhattan (known as Monstropolis), the series follows a disgraced detective who is trying to work out who is killing the monsters – or risk becoming the next victim.

With Showtime’s Penny Dreadful proving the popularity of the “monsters amongst us” genre, Melton and Dunstan, with producer Aaron Kaplan, hope a contemporary take will be equally of interest to audiences.
