GambitFox’s latest addition to the mutant movie saga, Gambit, is gearing up to start filming in Louisiana from October, with a projected budget of around $155 million.

The movie, directed by Planet of the Apes’ Rupert Wyatt, will open October 2016, and from the casting sheets, it seems likely that it will be an origin movie for the character.

GI Joe’s Channing Tatum is playing the mutant, originally created by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee back in 1990: Gambit, born Remy Etienne LeBeau, has also been voiced by Chris Potter and Tony Daniels in the X-Men animated series, and by Alessandro Juliani in X-Men Evolution. Taylor Kitsch played the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
