Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

The Thunderbirds 1965 Kickstarter today achieved its first stretch goal of £120,000, meaning that two new episodes of the classic 1960s TV series will go into production later this year.

The Abominable Snowman and Introducing Thunderbirds (directed by original series helmer David Elliott) are already in preparation but the Kickstarter runs for another 19 days, and has now set a further stretch goal of £195,000 in order to make the third story, The Stately Home Robberies. “Stately homes across England are being targetted for their precious jewel collections. The villains will stop at nothing to complete their task. Their next victim? Lady Penelope. Can she and Parker thwart their diabolical plan?”

The new episode requires new sets and new characters – hence the larger increase in the stretch goal. Producer Stephen La Rivière  told Sci-Fi Bulletin, “The success of the Kickstarter to date shows how much love there still is for Thunderbirds. We’ve already begun pre-production on the first two episodes. At this rate, hopefully we’ll soon be able to start on episode 3!”
