With an incredible 43 nominations between them, Game of Thrones and American Horror Story dominate the list for this year’s Emmy Awards.
Gotham, The Walking Dead and The Last Man on Earth achieved four nominations each, while Daredevil and Penny Dreadful accounted for three apiece. The Flash, Agents of SHIELD, Orphan Black and Outlander each received one – although Orphan Black’s was for Tatiana Maslany as Outstanding Lead Actress for “Sarah, Alison, Cosima, Helena, Rachel and Krystal”.
Game of Thrones’ 24 nominations include Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor (Peter Dinklage), Outstanding Supporting Actress (Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke), Outstanding Guest Actress (Diana Rigg), Outstanding Writing (for the episode Mother’s Mercy), and Outstanding Direction (for Mother’s Mercy and Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken).
American Horror Story’s 19 include Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries (Jessica Lange), Outstanding Limited Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor (Denis O’Hare and Finn Wittrock), Outstanding Supporting Actress (Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett and Kathy Bates), and Direction (for Monsters Among Us).
