Robocop writer Ed Neumeier has teamed up with Transformers’ Flint Dille to bring the original Buck Rogers novel, Philip Francis Nowlan’s Armageddon 2419 AD, to the big screen.
According to Deadline, the pair plan to “focus on a future informed by the present”, Their version of 2419 will be “based on scientific/technological advances in the last 90 years since the novel was originally published”. In common with the current predilection for dark heroes, Nowlan’s Rogers, having lost everyone he loved centuries ago, will now be “more brooding, a fish out of water who struggles to find a way to fit in to a war-torn world”.
