Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

According to a report at Deadline, the race to choose the new incarnation of Spider-Man is over, with British actor Tom Holland chosen to play the role of Peter Parker in the Marvel movies.

Holland beat out competition from Charlie Rowe, Matthew Lintz and Charlie Plummer. Originally known for starring in Billy Elliot, he was recently seen as Gregory Cromwell in the BBC’s adaptation of Wolf Hall (right).

Jon Watt will direct Holland’s solo debut as the wall crawler, although his first appearance is expected to be in next year’s Captain America: Civil War.
