The next season of American Horror Story will be “a little bloodier and grislier I think than anything that we’ve done before”, creator Ryan Murphy has promised.
Speaking to Deadline, he explained that the new season is “based in the hotel in horror movies and horror tropes. We’ve researched several real-live hotels in downtown LA where absolutely horrifying things happened.” He noted that it will play on fears about other people having keys to your room in a hotel…
An “incredible six-story Art Deco hotel” set has been built on the Fox lot for the production, which will be the first not to feature Jessica Lange. “This year, it’s a true ensemble and I think we have more male parts and more male stories,” Murphy commented. “I guess it’s a different tone this year than we’ve had.”
