Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Variety is reporting that Star Trek and Jack Ryan star Chris Pine is considering adding another genre role to his CV, playing Steve Trevor in DC’s new Wonder Woman movie opposite Gal Gadot.

Trevor is a key part of the original Wonder Woman story – the Army officer crashes on the island where Wonder Woman lives during the Second World War and they fall in love. She chooses to join him in the outside world, working with him as “Diana Prince”. In common with most DC characters, his history has changed considerably over the years, but it was this version of Trevor played by Lyle Waggoner in the first season of the 1970s TV series.

Aside from Waggoner, the character has been played by Kaz Garas and Justin Breuning on screen, with Man From Atlantis Patrick Duffy and Firefly‘s Nathan Fillion among those who have provided his voice for animated adventures.
