Although The X-Files’ return is being pushed as part of the new season of shows coming from Fox, new episodes won’t actually make their debut until early in 2016.

The network has confirmed that the six part event series will start airing on January 24th, 2016, after the NFC Championship Game, and then continue for the next five Mondays at 8pm (the slot currently assigned to Gotham, which is expected to be on hiatus at that point). Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny and Mitch Pileggi are among the stars already confirmed to be returning for the revival.
