Fox has added a further three genre shows to their 2015/16 schedule, with pick-ups for the Minority Report TV series, the Lucifer comic book adaptation and The Frankenstein Code update of Mary Shelley’s classic horror story.
Minority Report is a sequel to the Tom Cruise movie. Fox’s official log line: ” 10 years after the end of Pre-crime in DC, one of the three Pre-cogs struggles to lead a “normal” human life, but remains haunted by visions of the future, when he meets a detective who just may help him find a purpose to his gift.” Meagan Good stars as Vega, with Stark Sands as Dash/Arthur, Wilmer Valderrama as Will Blake, Daniel London as Wally, Laura Regan as Agatha, Li Jun Li as Akeela, Zhane Hall as Rico. The pilot is by Godzilla’s Max Borenstein.
Lucifer is described as being “based on characters from DC’s Vertigo imprint” and has already attracted some opprobrium for its reworking of the core concept. In the TV version, “bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.” Miranda star Tom Ellis (pictured) takes the lead with Lauren German as Det. Chloe Dancer, Rachael Harris as Kim Martin, DB Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Maze, Nicholas Gonzalez as Dan, Scarlett Estevez as Trixie. The pilot is directed by Len Wiseman and written by Californication creator Tom Kapinos; the pair will executive produce.
The Frankenstein Code is the new name for Fox’s Frankenstein project in which “Jimmy Pritchard, a morally corrupt retired cop, is given a second chance at life when he is brought back from the dead. Now younger and stronger, Pritchard will have to choose between his old temptations and his new sense of purpose.” Rob Kazinsky stars as Jimmy Pritchard, Dilshad Vadsaria as Mary, Adhir Kalyan as Otto, Tim DeKay as Duval Pritchard, Ciara Bravo as Gracie Pritchard. The series is executive produced by The X-Files’ Howard Gordon.
