Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

In perhaps the least surprising news so far of this renewals/pick-up season, CBS has given a series order to Greg Berlanti’s version of the DC Comics character Supergirl.

Melissa Benoit stars as Kara Zor-El, who was born on the planet Krypton, but escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she’s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin, Superman. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Calista Flockhart ci-stars as Cat Grant, with Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen and David Harewood as Hank Henshaw.

The pilot was written by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg.
