Only two weeks after the season two finale aired in the US, Syfy has decided not to bring back Ronald D. Moore’s SF horror series Helix.

The news, broken by the Hollywood Reporter, was confirmed by stars of the series on Twitter, with Mark Ghanime posting “My tweeps, saddened to hear about @helix‘s demise. Thx for all the fan loyalty & making it so special! You rock, stay tuned for what’s next!”and Neil Napier adding “It was a fun ride.” The show’s finale hit a series low in the ratings, making its return unlikely – from the heights of 2.8 million for the first season down to a total of 440,000.
