It looks as if Paramount may be making up for a lack of Star Trek on TV with the next best thing – a series based on the Galaxy Quest movie.
Original screen writer Robert Gordon, director, Dean Parisot, and producer Mark Johnson are behind the project which would be produced by Paramount Television, according to the report at Deadline. The 1999 feature was an affectionate spoof and homage to Star Trek, and is often regarded by Trek fans as one of the better Star Trek movies!
The movie starred Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, Sam Rockwell, Daryl Mitchell and Enrico Colantoni as well as Justin Long, but it is unlikely any of these would be involved in the series, which is more likely to start from scratch.
