LeviathanRuairi Robinson’s SF thriller The Leviathan has got a step closer to making it to the big screen with news that Simon Kinberg and Neil Blomkamp have joined the creative team, according to a report at Deadline.

Kinberg is a veteran of the X-Men franchise and is also a creative consultant on Star Wars: The Force Awakens; Blomkamp’s Chappie is currently in cinemas, with great excitement over his recently announced continuation of the Alien saga.

The Leviathan is set in the 22nd century and, as Robinson’s proof of concept video begins, “Mankind has colonised many worlds in a time when travel faster than the speed of light has been made possible by the harvesting of exotic matter from the eggs of the largest species mankind has ever seen. Those that take part in the hunt for the matter are mostly involuntary labour.” The video has received nearly two million views between Vimeo and YouTube.
