Jada Pinkett Smith’s Fish Mooney won’t be returning to Gotham when the show heads back for its second season later this year.

The actress confirmed to TV Line that “We’re done, I did my year and I had a good time… The show is gonna [have] an awesome finale.”

Mooney was one of the few characters in the Batman prequel that didn’t derive directly from the comic books, and has been distinctly less prominent in the second half of the show, no longer interacting with the other main characters. In response to Smith’s statement, the producers noted,  “Fish Mooney’s storyline takes a lot of interesting twists and turns into the finale of season one of Gotham.”
