CBS and Warner Bros. TV have released the first photograph of Melissa Benoist as Supergirl from the new pilot currently in production.

This is a much more serious and darker take on the costume, more in line with the Henry Cavill version of Superman from the Man of Steel movies.  “In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today,” designer Colleen Atwood explained. Atwood also designed the costumes for the other current DC superheroes on the small screen, The Flash and The Arrow.
