Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher will be joining returning star Jeff Goldblum for the long-gestating sequel to the 1996 hit Independence Day.

Director Roland Emmerich confirmed that the actors have been signed up in two tweets on March 3. Hemsworth is believed to be playing the son in law of former President Whitmore (Bill Pullman in the original film), with Usher as Will Smith’s character’s son. Smith is not set to appear in the movie.

Carter Blanchard is responsible for the latest iteration of the script, and Fox has set June 24, 2016 for release.
