Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Tom Ellis, star of comedy series Miranda as well as the more serious drama, Rush, is set to play Lucifer in Fox’s somewhat controversial adaptation of the Lucifer comicbook series.

The pilot has already attracted attention for its reworking of the concept in which “bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell,” Lucifer “resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals” (as opposed to running a piano bar!)

The pilot is being directed by Underworld’s Len Wiseman from a script by Tom Kapinos.
