The episode of the long running radio series Desert Island Discs, in which Roy Plomley interviewed the first Doctor, William Hartnell, has been located – at least in part.

Lucky listeners to the BBC’s iPlayer service were treated to the 16 minutes of the recording from August 23, 1965, earlier today (January 29) until the broadcast was pulled, pending an official announcement on Saturday January 31st. A copy of the recording was uploaded to YouTube here but it can now be heard via the official BBC page for the episode(here) which gives more details on Hartnell’s choices.
