True Blood’s Mehcad Brooks will play James Olsen in the latest version of the Supergirl saga.
Usually known as Jimmy rather than James, photographer Olsen is a key part of the Superman/Supergirl mythos, with Marc McClure providing a bridge between the two branches of the franchise in the 1970s/1980s films.
In the new TV series, in which Melissa Benoist plays Kara aka Supergirl, Olsen is a “smart, worldly” photographer at CatCo, the media company where Kara works. He recently has been living and working in National City, though the reason is still a secret.
