It seems as if we may be getting a proper X-Men live action TV series in the not too distant future, if Fox chiefs’ plans come to fruition.
The nearest live action version we’ve had in recent times has been Mutant X, and the new TV incarnation would need Marvel’s blessing. According to the report at TV Insider, delicate negotiations are ongoing. “We’re cautiously optimistic, we had a good meeting with them,” Fox entertainment chairman Gary Newman explained. “That will not be on a fast track creatively. This is just the deal, now we have to find the creative.”
If all goes well, chances are that the series wouldn’t be up and running until autumn next year for the 2016-17 season, Marvel already have Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter on ABC, with four shows on Netflix – including AKA Jessica Jones, now revealed to be starring David Tennant – starting with Daredevil in April this year.
