Lauren Beukes’ Broken Monsters, her supernatural tale about a detective hunting an unusual serial killer, has been bought by Endemol’s Assisted Dialogue division to develop as a drama series.
“Beukes’ novel captures our culture’s fascination with horror,” Assisted Dialogue’s Scott Aversano explained. “Her clever choice to explore this within the constructs of a supernatural novel – especially one which presents its own horribleness so elegantly – is a delightful paradox.” Aversano and Tom Gormican will be executive producers, with VP Development Jessica Matthews and Director of Development Lydia Storie overseeing the project.
