Gotham logoAt their presentation at the TCAs on January 17th, Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs, Fox Television Group confirmed that the Batman prequel series Gotham is definitely coming back for a second year – and also hinted at a return for another old favourite.

According to Walden, there have been conversations about a possible return for The X-Files, one of Fox’s first and best drama hits of the 1990s. The discussions have been logistical, over availability of stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as well as showrunner and creator Chris Carter, whose Amazon series wasn’t picked up from last year’s pilot season. Newman noted that he was “hopeful” about the outcome.

Comicbook company IDW are currently running an X-Files “Season 10” series, with their own version of Millennium starting this week.
